A Molinillo for making good chocolate creamy Mexican

What is Molinillo?

The molinillo incas molinillo is a wooden whisk used to make the thick hot chocolate from Central America. Its existence dates back to 2500 years, long before we Europeans do not even know the taste of Cocoa, back in Spain in the 1600s after the discovery of the New World. By quickly rolling the stick between the palms of the hand, rotating rings dipped in chocolate creates a creamy foam, which results in a delicious hot chocolate.

This object is produced in Mexico by a cooperative partner network of Artisans du Monde. This cooperative is called Xochiquetzal, which means in traditional language "God of crafts, flowers and dancing." It was created in 1991 to commercialize the Mexican crafts according to the principles of fair trade. About 450 producers, some thirty groups of producers, benefit from the work of this structure to train farmers, improve their standard of living, finding opportunities to international sales channels, while they can retain the traditions and techniques craft.
